In Kotor harbour there are lots of boat operators advertising tours to destinations nearby such as Our Lady of the Rocks island and The Blue Caves. These are wonderful destinations and prices can be pretty cheap, if you have time it’s highly recommended to take a boat trip. There is a little local bus service that services Kotor with buses stopping by the harbourside and nearer to the shopping mall about every hour. Buses are quite small – more like a minibus – but are perfectly adequate and cheap at around €2 for a single ticket.
No sooner had our passports been returned to us by the driver were we at the Croatian border crossing into the EU (yes a second border control, seems weird to me). While in Kotor, you can explore other Montenegro travel destinations by booking a water taxi. You can store bigger bags in a storage room under the bus. The prices vary, so better to check with the bus driver. Once you have stored your luggage, you will receive a paper with a number. This is done to ensure the correct person gets the right luggage.
Before your trip, we’ll email you pick-up instructions and contact

you. Most trips go ahead without issue, but our help centre team is

you need us. All our clients get 20% discount on return transfers and one day trips.

Generally the further away from the central thoroughfares the better. Some of the nicest restaurants are outside the Old Town walls. The bus journey takes about 2.5 hours without significant traffic. Don’t expect luxury with some seats often broken and the toilets frequently not working.
As always ensure the meter is on, and avoid drivers who hassle you for a ride, and check for ID in the vehicle. There’s a local service called Red Taxi where rides are arranged via WhatsApp which I recommend. It’s very easy to book and rides come quickly with polite, friendly drivers. It’s random whether taxis accept cards or just cash, so have cash to cover your trip. Kotor doesn’t have an airport but the nearby town of Tivat does. There are a decent number of flights from Tivat airport to a variety of European locations.

It’s on passengers to decide how to use it, sightseeing, lunch, coffee breaks, etc… Note that this does not apply for taxi trip from Kotor to airport Dubrovnik or Podgorica, only for transfers longer than 250 kilometers. The hire car had to be returned to Tivat airport taxi from kotor to dubrovnik for 10am but the next bus to Dubrovnik wasn’t until 15.40 in a town called Herceg Novi. Getting to Herceg Novi with no a car wasn’t without it’s challenges! We took a taxi to a ferry across the bay, then hopped on a local bus the rest of the way to Herceg Novi.

The larger petrol station near the bus station is well stocked. It’s recommended to visit the toilet in the bus station before you leave. https://taxi-travel.me/ The toilet is to the left of the cafe at the far end of the station. You will need to pay 50c to an attendant before going in.
We offer transportation service up to 8 passengers with professional driver with knowledge of English. If you are inquisitive why so many online demands for taxi from Kotor to Dubrovnik and Podgorica airport, Tirana, Split, Mostar, Sarajevo, there is a simple reason. Kotor is one of the most visited cities on this side of the Adriatic, and almost five hundred cruise ships annually is sufficient proof of that. After the visit, tourists need to continue traveling from Kotor usually to airports Podgorica or Dubrovnik if they are finishing vacation. We hopped off the bus and instantly the place felt different.
Kotor has a central bus station where you can get buses around Montenegro, Croatia and further afield. This guide focuses on the Dubrovnik to Kotor bus – however a lot of the following information will apply to other bus journeys. Understanding that nothing could be done and even though they were very apologetic a bit more advance warming on the delay would have been good. Our driver Ihor went above and beyond and organised our trip from Lviv (Ukraine) to Rzeszow (Poland).

The bus arrived about 30 mins late on the opposite side of the street from the main building (I hesitate to call it a terminal). Great service and was more competitive than many others in the area, the driver was on time and the vehicle was per…
Kotor doesn’t have a train station and buses will be likely your way travelling to and from the town. He figured out how to get us tickets to the Neuschwanstein Castle to avoid a wait and even found us toboggans to use while in Germany. He was prompt and courteous and we highly recommend him and this company for private tours/drivers.
